The Demon Wars

Adam has asked me that if I ever wrote a book, what would it be about?
I never really knew, but I did know it would be a fantasy.
They're more fun.
Anyway, I had a dream last night that would make a pretty good one I think if I elaborated on it.
More like a one shot or short story, but whatever.
I'm going to jot down what I remember and what I'd like to add.
I doubt I'd ever write this for real, but I'd like to still have it here.

Whole bunch of us going out to fight against demons.
Kind of an end of the world situation. Everything was just destroyed.
I was helping lead.
I was in love with this guy.
He had another girl (not a fighter) but maybe something was there.
We were really close and had been spending a lot of time together.
A girl can hope.
Something -a weapon, poison, rain, bomb?- when it hit anyone would give them about one minute before setting in an killing them.
It would also turn them berserk for that time.
Friends were going down but we were winning.
All short range and hand to hand combat.
Found the boss.
It was down to me, my best friend, and the guy.
The boss had many minions but they were all that was left.
They took most the minions and I took the boss and others.
Best friend finished hers and came to help.
We got hit with that weapon or whatever it was.
We were able to remain in control and not berserk and fight it for five minutes.
In which time we beat boss.
Right then my friend berserked for about ten seconds.
I was able to avoid her attack until she stopped.
My friend fell from the weapon and fight then.
My vision was going out - having to fight to stay alive and not go crazy plus from injuries- but I could see the guy about ten feet in front of me.
He was looking my way but not moving, weapon drawn but hesitant, as if he was waiting for me to berserk too.
I couldn't see his face because I was so weak.
I fell then.

Then I woke up.
It felt like moments to me, but they said it had been about three years.
Things looked almost exactly the same way they did at the fight.
A female demon approached me.
I put my guard up for a moment, but noticed that she seemed surprised by this and didn't look like she meant any harm.
She slowly approached me and told me that she had been waiting for me to wake up.
The demon helped me up and took me somewhere to change and get cleaned up.
Then she took me to my old base.
Inside I saw the guy.
He had matured three years, but hadn't changed all that much physically in the three years.
To me, it only felt like it had been a day.
But he gave me a look as if he was seeing a ghost for a moment.
I smiled and ran up to hug him and remembered when I pulled away that years had passed.
He looked bewildered. As if it wasn't real.
The demon pulled me away then to talk with me and help prepare dinner.
She was really quite kind.
She told me what happened after the fight.
Weapon planned by boss.
Demons wake up in about a days time whereas people take around five years.
I woke up early.
If someone is moved, they won't wake up.
That's why it was still a mess.
Didn't tell humans, only demons.
They "preserved" us as a reminder of their victory.
Boss actually wanted us to come back after they took over for some bigger scheme.
People formed families.
Families, as they were referred to, were groups of humans. Most people died pre and during the demon wars.
Many more, whom the boss didn't find necessary, were killed after.
People gathered into groups during these hard times to act as families - since few were actually still in tact - and help each other survive.
I asked about the guy and all she told me was that he doesn't smile anymore.
That he hasn't since the fight.
He's kind of become the leader of the humans since I've been gone. (sly reference to below)
She said he was serious all the time now.
But when no one was looking, he was sad.
At dinner the girl he was dating before the fight was there.
She seemed super sad and quiet the whole time and hardly looked up from her food.
It was clear they were not together, but there weren't very many human "families" for her to choose from.
The guy kept glancing at me with sadness and confusion in his eyes.
Not once did he smile.
A girl strolled in then and took the seat next to him, grabbing his hand.
She seemed well put together, more like the demons than the straggly, post-apocalyptic humans. But she was human.
She was beautiful and reminded me of someone.
He seemed to be in a better mood once she arrived. Not quite happy, but not nearly as sad any longer.
These two were clearly together.
But somehow I couldn't hate her.
Whether it was because she did lift his spirits or because she seemed familiar(with a positive feeling), I just couldn't.
I still wasn't comfortable with it though and quickly finished my food and left.

Side notes that didn't quite fit in to the story, just happened.
Later I approach him about why he is acting weird around me and he'll blurt out that he thinks it's his fault I "died." And he'd finally started coming to terms with it and putting his life back together when I "came back to life."
Turns out I was the princess. The boss killing my parents started the whole thing.
Luckily-dreams...-I'd been trained all my life in katana and hand to hand combat and was able to lead the fight.
Need to make a backstory were guy falls for me :p

Inside a Volcano

Been a while, I know. And I have had some interesting dreams since the last one. I've just been so busy with school lately.

So this one last night. There's a lot I don't remember because I woke up so many times.
I was at some ceremony for my best friend in the dream (who I didn't know in real life). We were inside a volcano and jumping on the lava. There was some layer between us and it, but you could see the orangy color glowing through in some areas and it also wasn't hot. But we did have to be careful not to break it. It was like a bouncy house or a water bed.
In the ceremony, I think we were like inducting her into another family. In that family was a guy that I really liked but he liked one of my friends. Who also liked him. This pretty much ruined mine and her relationship, because she started running with a different crowd to impress him and really became a bitch.
While he liked her, he also kind of had a thing for me too. The day of the ceremony, I acted in part of the tradition and thanked his family by jumping up and down in the middle of all of them, thanking them and talking about how great they were before we left. The guy caught my eye then and I his.
After the ceremony, we went down off the volcano and everyone left. He and I were two of the last ones. I went up to thank him again (in a normal way) and ended up dancing away from him after. He ran after me and asked if I'd like to go out dancing with him sometime. Of course I was all over that and said yes. He kissed me after that a few times. He seemed a bit hesitant at first, but did it twice more.
We then walked to a hole in the wall restaurant that he knew the owner and chef of. It was supposed to have amazing food. One of my guy friends were there too suddenly. While we were waiting for the food, I noticed through the window in the nice restaurant next door, my bitchy ex friend who also liked the guy I was with. I think they had a thing previously but I'm not really sure. Of course he noticed her too, and she noticed us. Then the guy's sister walked in and sat next to her at her table. That sister apparently was vying for her to get him.
We all went about our business, but they guy suddenly started acting uncomfortable and kept stealing glances that way. As we sat down at our table after ordering at the bar, we saw through the window that the girl was making out with the guy at the table behind her. Clearly this was to make the guy with me jealous, and it worked, I noticed.
I stood up then and pulled him aside. I told him that I can't be with him if he still likes someone else and walked out. I heard him coming after me, so I took off running around corners in this Venice like city set up in my dream.
I was now in an area with a bunch of very wealthy homes all with their backs to a lake. I snuck through there until I got to a large public pool at the side of a house. Three girls showed up after me and one started swimming. The other two were talking to me about how fast I was at the last swimming competition and how much I beat everyone else by. So apparently I'm a good swimmer in my dream.
They went on to say how pissed the girl in the pool was about getting second and how she is determined to beat me this time. I came to find out that that girl was essentially the head bitch that my ex friend started hanging out with. Now I want to clarify that I didn't really have a problem with my "ex" friend, other than the fact that I was jealous that the guy still liked her so much. But I wasn't hateful toward her or anything. Apparently we had been really close in the past and I guess I always thought we might get back to that.
Anyway, I ended up hoping in the pool and did just two laps at such an incredible speed, I hardly believed it. The head girl was livid so I got out and just sat on the side, not wanting to start trouble. I more just wanted to see if what the girls said were true. They were now cheering on the side of the pool at the other end.
Later, I noticed my ex friend was there with the bitchy girl. They were at the end of the pool which bordered the latter girl's yard. They were talking to a man and a police officer. From what I gathered the man had broken in or something and out of the corner of my eye, I saw that him and the girls kept glancing my way. Then someone brought me over a bowl of red water and a canister with something in it. They asked me to take it to that house and give it to the parents. For whatever reason, I obliged, but not before dumping the water in the pool and refilling it with clear water. I knew something was up. I also tossed the canister in a bush. As I was walking along the street toward the front of the house, a police car pulled up beside me and asked me what I was carrying. I showed them the water and said I was taking it to the parents. They went on to tell me that the man said I was working with him and was bringing him red water and a can with something in it. Around that same time, the guy I liked and had run from earlier showed up. Since I didn't have what the police were looking for, I was off the hook. My old friend looked really guilty. I felt bad for her, but this was going too far. I know it was mostly the bitchy girl's idea, but she still went with it.
I figured out that the girls had hired the man to do what he did and accuse me of helping too. They would then place me with evidence and the guy would show up just as I was arrested and he wouldn't want me anymore. Luckily, that failed.
I dropped the bowl of water and walked back up the street away from the pool. I walked right past the guy, who had seen what had happened, and I kept going. He tried saying something to me, but I wasn't listening because I was angry with everyone at that point and also the two girls ran up to him and started talking about what happened.
I was walking up a hill past some stores when he caught up to me. I told him to go back, that he shouldn't been seen with me if he wants to win back my old friend. He said didn't believe the girls for a second, and the only reason he showed up when they called him was because they had said I was there. When I had walked out on him and he couldn't find me earlier, he realized that it scared or worried him more than when he saw the other girl kissing the guy in the restaurant.
We walked back down the hill together toward the pool where his car was parked. On the way, we passed the girls. Their faces were plastered with hatred, defeat, or jealousy (depending on the girl) as they tried to walk by as if they didn't care that he didn't believe them and now had his arm around me.
We got in the car together and I woke up. That was my dream.

Connection to the real world? It's kind of a mix between what happened with my boyfriend and our friend Molly before he and I started dating and the anime/manga Peach Girl. Molly liked David too and thought they were going to date. He didn't really see it that way and when I started showing interest, he chose me. She later would bring up in class instances where they were together alone and how things almost happened and the sort. Now things are fine, but for a while, it was super uncomfortable and she was clearly very bitter. Even her best friend told her flat out to stop once when I was there. In Peach Girl, Momo's best friend likes her boyfriend and tries to convince the school and the boy that Momo is this terrible person. It works several times too, but in the end, the boyfriend finds out and outs the friend. So the dream kind of took aspects of both I think.

That's it for now. Until next time!
